Visiting Scholars

Submission guidelines for  university funded grants:

1.  Only Full or Associate Professors are eligible to apply.

2.  Visiting professorships are only awarded to candidates who apply from universities outside of Israel .

3.  Typically, visiting professors are  expected to teach.  The Academic Committee will favorably view applications which present intent to teach courses or heading/participating  in seminars.  Visiting professors are also engaged in joint research with their hosts, or interactions with other faculty members.  The precise combination of activities will be mutually decided upon by the visitor and his/her academic sponsor.

4.  Visiting professors who previously received a Fellowship,  are eligible to  re-apply for an additional fellowship, under the condition that  at least 3 academic years have elapsed since the previous application.   For example,  a visiting professor, who was awarded a Fellowship for the 2020-21academic year,  may re-apply  for the 2024-25 academic year.

Terms of  visit :

  1. The fellowship will fund 9,000 NIS  per month for associate professors and 10,000 NIS per month for full professors.
  2. The expected length of the visit is for 1-3 months, between October to September of the relevant academic year.
  3. The fellowship includes one lowest rate round-trip ticket  from the International Airport nearest to your residence, arriving at the Ben Gurion Airport in Israel.
