Scholarship Receiving Process

The doctoral student must contact the "Klita beMada" unit at the Ministry of Absorption and receive approval from the Ministry of Absorption for eligibility for the scholarship.

The doctoral student or the Ministry of Absorption will contact Sorana Sigal from the Academic Administration to begin the process. The doctoral student must receive a form and information about submitting the application from Sorana, and then return the form signed by all relevant parties (the doctoral student, the supervisor).

The signed form must be accompanied by the student’s CV, a research summary, and a letter of recommendation from the supervisor, which also includes a commitment to finance the required matching.

After receiving the signed documents (including the commitment to finance the required matching), Sorana submits an official demand to the "Klita beMada" unit ,on behalf of the university to bbe awarded the scholarship.

After the demand is approved by the committee gathered at  "Klita beMada" ‚"unit, is received a written agreement, for granting the scholarship for one year. Upon receipt of the agreement, the doctoral student, the supervisor, the accountant, and the coordinator in charge of scholarships  subject are notified of the approval of the scholarship, and the accountant take cares of the payments to  the doctoral student.

After the scholar signs the contract, Sorana handles the signing of the contract by all relevant parties at the university.

About two months before the end of the scholarship year, the coordinatorat the faculty checks with the supervisor whether there is available matching required for the scholarship continuation for a second year and if that’s the case, a research progress report is sent to Sorana, accompaniated by a letter of recommendation from the supervisor with a commitment to matching.  and a volunteering form re: the volunteer activity during the scholarship’ year. At the end of the third year of the scholarship, the scholarship recipient will submit a final academic report, which will include a reference to the estimated date of completion of the doctorate. This report is forwarded to the Ministry of Absorption.
